32: Test First Fiber

If necessary, use the enter key to reveal the SETUP soft-key. Press SETUP to set OTDR trace options.

For best results, use the following recommended settings:

Capture mode: USER

Pulse Width: 5m (you may need to use a longer pulse width if the “end-of-fiber” spike doesn't appear)

Traces to Average: 16384

Dead Zone Length: (use dead zone length recorded previously)

Range: (use the next longest setting from the total distance recorded previously)

Step: 1m

Press SAVE to accept these values.

To change the index of refraction, it may be set by pressing the INDEX soft key. Otherwise, it is acceptable to leave it at the default value of 1.4681.
