4: Install the Correct Universal Adapter

Installing the correct power meter universal adapter cap will ensure that you are able to utilize the industry-recommended 1-jumper reference method.

So, look at the patch panel of the link under test. If it is a 2.5mm ferrule connector such as SC, ST, or FC, install the 2.5mm cap.

If the patch panel is LC, then install the 1.25mm adapter cap.

Take care with these adapter caps, as they are are small and easy to misplace. Replacement adapters are available from OWL.
