The LINK NAME screen has several fields where the user can type in particular location information about the link under test.

Accessing a text field opens up a grid of alphanumeric and special characters that a user can use to type in the correct information.

The PROJECT field refers to the overall name of the job being done. In this demonstration, we are calling the project ACME CORP.

The LOCATION field can be used to localize the test results based on a particular location, which is helpful in case there are multiple locations being tested within the job. In this demonstration, the LOCATION is HQ WEST.

MASTER END and REMOTE END designate where the MASTER and REMOTE will be used during the test. This information is important for jobs where the direction is important (such as in bi-directional testing), but for PAIR MODE this information is more helpful than critical. In this demonstration, the MASTER will be used in the COMPUTER ROOM, and the REMOTE will be used in the room called NETWORK HUB 3.

When the information is entered for all fields, press the function key labeled NEXT to continue.
