During link setup, the technician will be prompted to enter values for several important fiber test parameters. The certifier will use this information to calculate a pass/fail link budget.

These parameters include:

Fiber standard
Test mode
Fiber type
Test cord type
Number of interconnections
Number of splices
Reference method
Fiber pair geometry
Fiber pair numbering

These test parameters will be covered in more detail later in the slideshow.
