OWL DATACENTER 12 MPO OPTICAL SWITCHES
MPO OPTICAL SWITCHES allow single-fiber testers such as OTDR, power meter, light source, or VFL to easily test individual fibers in MPO trunk cables and patch cables without the need for bulky breakout cables or expensive cassettes. MPO trunk cables are typically factory-terminated to customer specs, and thus can be especially costly.  So it is good practice to test the MPO cable before AND after the cable is pulled to ensure that the expensive MPO trunk cable was: a) in good condition right from the factory; and b) not damaged during cable pulling. The MPO testing process is easy and convenient.  Simply connect the single-fiber device to the SC port, connect the 12-fiber MPO cable to the MPO port, select the MPO channel to be tested, then run the test.  See our video below for examples of how using an MPO optical switch can benefit fiber optic professionals.
