024: Enter/Measure Fiber Length

Now is the best time to set the fiber length in the meter.

Press LENGTH on the meter to enter the fiber length.

If the length is known, press MANUAL and enter the fiber length in meters.

If you need the Fiber OWL 7 to measure the length, attach a third cable to the length testing port and take the meter to one end of the link, then take the source and a fourth cable to the other end of the link.

The meter will show a diagram about how to connect the meter and cables to the link for the purpose of measuring the length.

Connect the two power meter cables into two fibers in the link, then loop back the same two fibers at the far end with the extra cable.

NOTE: the source is not used for length measurement.
