The Silicon ZOOM is one of the world's most economical and precise fiber optic power
meters delivering professional performance and a complete feature set
for optical loss testing in multimode networks.
The Silicon ZOOM uses a Silicon
photodetector that makes it ideal for multimode loss testing. It is NIST
Traceable 850nm,
and also comes factory calibrated at 650nm and 980nm.
It can store
reference values for all of its calibrated wavelengths, and displays optical
power as an absolute value in dBm or
relative to a user set "zero" reference in dB. A single switch selects
between its calibrated wavelengths and the zero button allows the user to
switch between dBm and dB or set the zero reference power.
Other
standard features include a 3 digit, 0.1dB resolution display and a 2.5mm
Universal detector port that is compatible with FC, ST, SC, DIN, and any other 2.5 mm ferrule
connectors, and also comes with low battery
warning and a free rugged rubber boot.
The Silicon ZOOM can be easily upgraded to
full multimode and single-mode capability, including 1300/1310nm and 1550nm NIST-traceable
